If you have any problems with rusty water, please call Public Services at 978-536-0600 as there may be a problem in the area that they are working on, or need to be notified immediately.

If you have soiled laundry due to the rusty water, bottles of solution are available at the Water and Sewer Billing Department in City Hall for your use at no cost.

City of Peabody offers homeowners the opportunity to install a second water meter for irrigation purposes.

The meter must be installed by a licensed plumber, and a permit must be pulled with the Gas/Plumbing Inspector, Arthur Pavlo, in the Building Inspectors office, prior to the installation.

The meter must be a Neptune T-10, with an outside Dual R900 Radio Read Box.

When the installation is complete, please contact the Gas/Plumbing Inspector, Arthur Pavlo, at 978-538-5791. He will then contact our office to schedule an inspection, at which time we will program the meter and assign an account number. You will then receive credit on the sewer portion of your bill only, for your outside water usage.

If an irrigation meter is installed without a permit, credit on usage on the meter will not be issued until after the date of the permit being issued. No back credit will be issued for the usage on the meter prior to the date of the permit being pulled.

This is a great way to save money during the summer months!
